IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:
-Be accountable for working to develop and execute a long-term, multi-year strategy for the IT organization with direction from the CTO and broader IT senior leadership team that considers the entire ecosystem: business, security, risk tolerance, investment needs, and critical back-office infrastructure operations.
-Direct and manage the design, development, implementation, integration, and maintenance of technology infrastructure and systems capabilities to support the organization's business objectives.
Leads and is accountable for ensuring the reliability, scalability and maintainability of production applications to fuel growth strategies. Employs rehabilitation, retirement, and replacement strategies to ensure optimal system health.
-Act as an influential leader within the business unit(s) and works to have a contributing seat at their table.
Ensure delivery and successful implementation across multiple portfolios of investments based on commitments of time, scope, and financial results.
-Be responsible for portfolio updates, dashboards, and metrics to Sr. Leadership and/or executive level audiences.
-Act as the unit's primary contact for stakeholders and has direct financial and operational accountability for strategic development, production management, maintenance and support services.
-Employ solid risk and security management practices, creative solutions and suitable business judgement in delivering business solutions; ensures adherence to regulatory standards as well as compliance and confidentiality policies.
-Develop technical architecture, engineering and technology management capabilities of the organization.
-Enable innovation and seeks to leverage IT trends that can create business value consistent with the company’s requirements and expectations.
-Analyze industry, technology, and market trends to determine their potential impacts on the enterprise.
-Analyze the current business and IT environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommends solutions for improvement.
-Lead the technology portfolio management/rationalization process
-Consult with infrastructure development project teams to fit infrastructure to architecture, as well as to identify when it is necessary to modify the technical architecture to accommodate infrastructure needs.
-Be responsible for the performance management of staff, coaching, mentoring, succession planning, salary administration and overall talent management.
-Work closely with and manages strategic vendor and partner relationships.
ARCHITECTURE:
-Lead with direction from the CTO, the evolution of the technical architecture maturity, including the coordination of an appropriately aligned pursuit of enterprise information systems, data, security, and solution architecture viewpoints.
-Work to ensure governing principles to guide the EA strategy and solution designs for the enterprise are followed; partners with EXCO on the development or reframing of governing principles for technical architecture as needed.
-Assess measures and communicates the value of the technical architecture.
INFRASTRUCTURE:
-Be accountable for continuous improvement of the availability and dependability of applications
-Be responsible for successful migration of on-premise data center to co-location facility.
-Be responsible for identifying and implementing corrective measures, ensuring preventative maintenance, and supporting incident management and problem correction to prevent recurrences.
-Partner with end-user counterparts to maintain consistent strategies in Infrastructure and Technology
OPERATIONS:
-Plan and manages the Infrastructure run-the-business and strategic IT budgets
-Lead the technical discussions and designs for with application support teams relative to datacenter migration to co-location facility or cloud providers as appropriate.
-Insure flawless operation of the disaster recovery program
-Provide leadership for delivery of 24/7 service operations
Requirements
B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering or related fields is required; MS or MBA is preferred
Minimum of 10 years of IT architecture, infrastructure and/or leadership experience required with a minimum of 5+ years of people-leadership
Vendor management experience required
Prior Insurance Industry experience a plus but not required
Expert-level financial acumen including budget management, forecasting, portfolio estimating, and GAAP/Software Capitalization analysis – builds out infrastructure investment proposals in partnership with IT leaders
Able to achieve credibility with and provide guidance to the Sr. Leaders within the business areas.
Experience with large scale technology infrastructure implementations and data center and cloud migrations.
Solid understanding of technology platforms, operating systems. And computer networking.
Able to trade-off the risks and rewards in a situation and make critical decisions while also considering the big picture of company-wide impact, industry trends, and strategic implications.
Ability to work in a highly collaborative and highly matrixed, fast-paced, entrepreneurial, transparent and flexible work environment.
Has in-depth knowledge of the technologies they are currently supporting and a proven willingness to stay knowledgeable about and introduce new technologies that would enhance our businesses.
Strategic and insightful in their thinking, with good judgment and an intuitive sense of where to look for opportunities to support the business from a technology standpoint.
Demonstrated track record of building and leading high-performing teams toward the successful attainment of challenging goals in support of the corporate business strategy with strong results orientation and sense of urgency.
Proven track record of working hand-in-hand with other leaders, and rolling up their sleeves (if needed) to get the job done
Promotes collaboration, accountability, respect, empowerment, recognition, and provides ongoing coaching to employees.
